Police in the Bronx shot an armed suspect last night after he tried to fire at two officers, police said.

Rondell Tribble, 21, and an unidentified suspect approached an unmarked police car, believing it was a livery cab, at about 3:50 a.m. yesterday in the Morris Heights section of the Bronx, police said.

When the officers observed that Tribble was carrying a gun, a chase ensued, police said.

Police followed Tribble for several blocks. When the suspect allegedly fired his gun, an unidentified sergeant returned fire. Tribble was shot in the shoulder and then arrested, police said.

Police investigators later found a bullet that was fired from Tribble’s gun, police said.
