An early morning fire in the middle of blizzard conditions left six people with minor injuries in Staten Island yesterday.
Firefighters responded to the three alarm blaze at about 2:30 a.m. at a six-story apartment on Park Hill Avenue, said Firefighter Paul Iannizzotto, a fire department spokesman. About 35 units and 150 firefighters were called to the fire.
The fire started on the first floor and extended through the building. Firefighters were able to put the flames out after about an hour. The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
A total of six residents of the apartment suffered minor injuries. Three of them were taken to Staten Island University Hospital North for treatment.
