One person died and two others were injured after jumping out of the ninth floor window of a Bronx heroin lab during a raid by federal drug agents yesterday, authorities said.
Drug Enforcement Administration officials said that yesterday, police entered apartment 9G at 2001 Story Ave. in the Unionport section of the Bronx with a search warrant. As they entered, three people jumped out of the balcony window, and fell from the ninth floor onto a terrace on the sixth floor, officials said.
A DEA spokeswoman, Erin McKenzie-Mulvey, said one person had died from the fall, while two others were taken to the Jacobi Medical Center and are in stable condition. Officials would not release their names.
The agents arrested 13 additional people found in the apartment. Ms. McKenzie-Mulvey said they confiscated about two kilos of heroin that had been packaged in dime bags.
