‘With Bolton Out, Annan’s Team Barely Hides Glee’

With the resignation of John Bolton, America’s ambassador to the United Nations, we are witnessing another victory for those who are out to destroy the West. Islam wins and we lose [National, “With Bolton Out, Annan’s Team Barely Hides Glee,” December 5, 2006]. Kofi Annan, George Soros, and the Democrats who delude their followers that there can be “dialogue” with terrorists, and all the enemies of the Western world, have won a victory with Mr. Bolton’s resignation. Mr. Bolton called the United Nations a “swamp that needed to be drained.” He is exactly right.

‘The Religion Factor’

I expect a president to be smarter than me, and more capable of analyzing information from many sources [Oped, “The Religion Factor,” December 5, 2006]. I expect him to live a life of personal integrity and morality. If he is not honest with himself or others, he will not be honest with the nation. I expect a president to want the job for the opportunity to serve, not to wield power. I expect him to be more interested in the welfare of the country than in his personal welfare. If he meets these criteria, then I don’t care about his or her gender, race, or religion. Where he attends church is not so important as where his heart and mind are. It’s been said that “your actions speak so loudly that I cannot hear what you say.” That means actions throughout the week, not just on Sundays.
