‘Turkey Up in Arms Over House Resolution Against Armenian “Genocide”‘
Foreign Minister Gul’s conjecture that passing the Armenian genocide resolution would “damage” Turkish-American relations is a testament to his government’s futile and increasingly desperate attempts to revise history [Foreign, “Turkey Up in Arms Over House Resolution Against Armenian ‘Genocide,'” February 22, 2007].
Seeking solace in Washington will not help conceal the truth but rather prolong the inevitable cascade of justice that haunts Turkey’s collective conscience to this day. Seeing that the Bush administration hosted genocide deniers from Ankara, Holocaust deniers from Tehran may now feel entitled to a similar séance with the president upon their next visit.
