‘Teaching Moment’
If Lee Bollinger welcomed Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to Columbia University in the interest of free speech he should have also welcomed a representative of Israel to defend his nation on the same platform.
If Mr. Ahmadinejad failed to appear or walked off, the students of Columbia would have received a valuable teaching moment as to which side supported free speech and open debate.
