‘Spitzer Alarms Businesses By Opposing Indian Point’

The Sun reported that I singled out Governor Spitzer for criticism on the failure to renew the law governing power plant development [New York, “Spitzer Alarms Businesses By Opposing Indian Point,” December 4, 2007].

We all know that it takes three to Tango in Albany. The Partnership for New York City supports clean nuclear energy, but what is most important is a reliable system with sufficient capacity from a variety of sources.

For three years, the State legislature and two administrations have failed to agree on a renewal/revision of the law governing power plant siting. We cannot talk about shutting down Indian Point until we have alternatives.
