‘Bloomberg, Quinn Rift Possible Over Term Limits’
Congratulations to City Council Speaker Christine Quinn for burying the attempt to undo the will of the people on the critically important issue of term limits [New York, “Bloomberg, Quinn Rift Possible Over Term Limits,” December 4, 2007].
The people have spoken loud and clear on this issue, and it’s obvious that the overwhelming majority of voters believe that term limits makes for better government.
The hypocrisy of some Council members is shocking when we hear those, who were given the opportunity for election because of term limits, now complaining that they cannot achieve all their grandiose objectives in only two terms.
We, the voters, answer that if you can’t do what you promised to do in two terms, you shouldn’t have run for political office at all.
Thank you, Ms. Quinn, for supporting the intelligent will of the voters on this important issue.
