With the timing of the 45th New York Film Festival — at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall — the Upper West Side is the city’s prime destination spot this weekend. Here are some suggestions on where to grab a bite to eat in between screenings this weekend.

DINNER

A jewel of a steakhouse, Landmarc, born in TriBeCa, almost immediately became popular with neighborhood residents who feasted on hanger and strip steaks from an open grill, while sipping wine at or close to retail prices. Earlier this year, owner Marc Murphy opened a second Landmarc restaurant in the Time Warner Center, where breakfast service begins at 7 a.m. A basket of crispy toasted baguette slices comes with three types of jam and a deep shot of Nutella. Lunch and dinner closely resemble that of the downtown location: Monstersize hunks of marrow bone come with a pile of slippery, tangy onion marmalade, and a skirt steak salad is dotted with chunks of blue cheese so big that they could serve as a meal on their own. The $13 hamburger tastes mighty good with a thick schmear of goat cheese, along with a half-bottle of prosecco. And the hanger steak, at $26, is tender enough to stand in for overpriced short ribs any day.

Bill Telepan proved himself a master of seasonal vegetables at his now-closed restaurant, JUdson Grill, where farm fanatics would flock to eat his squash pastas and crab cakes with lemon verbena. At his latest venture, Telepan, he continues his dominance in the garden. Fried summer vegetables include okra, zucchini blossoms, and green tomatoes, while an appetizer of fried blue prawns is served with spicy mango salad, hearts of palm, and avocado. A triple-corn dish features smoked corn soup with a blue corn biscuit and a corn custard. Meanwhile the king salmon is accompanied by eggplant caviar, and the lamb is served with crisy gnocchi, chanterelles, and baby bulb onions. A four-course tasting menu with wine is a relative bargain at $100, and a five-course menu will set you back $120. (72 W. 69th St., between Columbus Avenue and Central Park West, 212-580-4300)

Long-legged and fashionable diners seem to dominate at Citrus, but this restaurant welcomes any and all. Pitchers of white sangria dotted with lychees and oranges can usually be spotted on almost all the tables. The menu is lively, featuring Latin American specialties, such as a skirt steak and sautéed pork tacos with pineapple, red pepper, and scallion salsa, and a “queso fundido” quesadilla with roasted chicken and poblano-infused pesto. For those in the mood for sushi, Citrus offers a tofu veggie roll with mango and papaya, and the “Citrus” roll, which contains king crab, cucumber, and tobiko roe. Much bigger restaurants on a busy stretch of Amsterdam Avenue flank Land Thai Kitchen. But it would be a loss for spicy noodle lovers to pass by this narrow restaurant, which dishes up clean Thai fare without extra grease and with presentation in mind. A mixed appetizer “platter” is served on a slim plate, with accompanying sauces. The plate includes shrimp dumplings, chicken curry puffs, and vegetable dumplings. A red snapper is served crispy and whole with cherry tomatoes and bok choy. And the drunken noodles are so spicy that diners will enjoy a night of sinus-free worries after their meal.
