The editorial director of the Boston Herald, Ken Chandler, a former editor and publisher of the New York Post, is leaving Boston and will return to New York to launch a new company, Chandler Media, based in New York, that will offer “specialized advice to Fortune 500 CEOs and their companies on global positioning, crisis management and new media.”
In a press release issued by the Herald, Mr. Chandler said that after three years of commuting to Boston from his home in Westchester County, he would return to New York at the end of the year to be with his family. His wife, Dr. Erika Schwartz, is a women’s health specialist with a practice in Manhattan. “Over the years, I’ve seen so many companies make needless mistakes when the media spotlight shines on them because they are unprepared and do not know how to act quickly and decisively to limit the damage,” Mr. Chandler said. “In the age of Internet with its instant deadlines, the need for sound advice has never been greater.”
The Herald is a tabloid that competes with the New YorkTimes Company’s Boston Globe.
