Peekaboo! Fans of “Hide and Seek” have come out, come out wherever they are, making the psychological thriller starring Robert De Niro the no. 1 box-office draw, taking in $22 million over the weekend.

Mr. De Niro plays recently widowed psychologist David Callaway who buys a house in upstate New York to help his daughter Emily – Dakota Fanning – deal with her grief. Emily’s resulting imaginary friend turns out to be not so imaginary.

“Hide and Seek” scared enough moviegoers away from “Are We There Yet?” to knock it down to no. 2. The romantic comedy took in $17 million in its second week in release, bringing its total to $39.1 million.
