LOST IN SPACE Artist Michelle Mackey grew up in Texas, studied in South Carolina and Italy, traveled to New Mexico, and now lives in Brooklyn. In some of the bright oil paintings on display in her new exhibit “Spaces In Between,” a block structure floats among a variety of landscapes, disregarding the laws of physics. Through Saturday, 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Paul Sharpe Contemporary Art, 525 W. 29th St., between Tenth and Eleventh avenues, second floor, 646-613-1252, free.
WALKING ON AIR For her public art project “Time Translations,” closing Friday, Nell Breyer placed cameras along the World Financial Center’s southern pedestrian bridge that videotape the movements of passersby. The live footage is processed by computers and projected as drawings on the side of the bridge. “Think of it as a representation of a ‘moving average’ of people over the bridge,” Ms. Breyer said. Through Friday, 8 a.m.-8 p.m., World Financial Center pedestrian bridge at Liberty Street, 212-945-0505, free.
