A GOOD MAN IS EASY TO FIND In Robert James Waller’s “High Plains Tango” (Crown), carpenter Carlisle McMillan leaves the big city in a huff and lands in a small town that’s home to (at least) one unappreciated woman. Sound familiar? Carlisle is the son of Robert Kincaid, the protagonist in Mr. Waller’s sentimental best-seller “The Bridges of Madison County.” Mr.Waller reads from and signs his latest tearjerker, which also touches on overdevelopment, farm subsidies, and endangered species. Tonight, 7:30 p.m., Barnes & Noble Upper West Side, 2289 Broadway at 82nd Street, 212-362-8835, free.
