JAZZ HANDS (AND FEET)
Enfocus presents an evening of jazz dance by a variety of choreographers, each of whom discusses their inspirations as part of the program. Tomorrow and Saturday, 8 p.m., Dance Forum New York, 20 E. 17th St., between Broadway and Fifth Avenue, 212-633-7202, $18.
MANGA MOVES
The work in progress “Deadly She-Wolf Assassin at Armageddon!” fuses dance, theater, music, and martial arts in a staged homage to Japanese manga comic books. Playwright Ruth Margraff tells the story of a gorgeous assassin on a mission. Fred Ho’s score combines traditional Japanese music and soul-jazz. Tsuyoshi Kaseda’s choreography includes sword-fighting and martial arts. The advance performances feature fully staged excerpts and discussions with the artists. Tomorrow and Saturday, 8 p.m., Japan Society, 333 E. 47th St., between First and Second avenues, 212-752-3015, $25 general, $20 members.
