VIETNAM MOVES A program celebrates Vietnamese music and dance, from royal court dances to rarely seen styles of the country’s ethnic minorities. Music is played on traditional gourd lutes and the popular instrument dan b’au.The event, which is organized in part by the Embassy of Vietnam, marks the 10th anniversary of the normalization of relations between Vietnam and America. Tonight, 5:30 p.m. tickets distributed, 6:30 p.m. performance, Asia Society and Museum, 725 Park Ave. at 70th Street, 212-517-2742, free.
WORLD MOVES Dance companies from as far away as Taiwan and Iceland kick off the fourth annual International Dance Festival-NYC. The festival lasts through August 6. Tonight, 7 p.m., Dicapo Opera Theatre, 184 E. 76th St. at Second Avenue, 212-233-2323, $75 benefit tickets, $35 performance only.
