CHAPTER ONE The Daniel Gwir tzman Dance Company presents the premiere of “Chapters,” a chamber work performed by Mr. Gwirtzman, Cary McWilliam, and Jason Ignacio.The piece features original music by Jeff Story, Andrew Waggoner, and Jo Thomas. FIRST NUTCRACKER The Joffrey Ballet School presents a version of “The Nutcracker” with choreography by the school’s artistic director, John Magnus. The Joffrey Ballet’s principal dancer, Gary Chryst, takes the role of Dr. Drosselmeyer. Yuko Watanabe portrays the Sugar Plum Fairy. The performance – which features an abridged first act and a complete Snow Scene and second act – is the ballet school’s first production of “The Nutcracker.” Saturday, 2 and 7 p.m., Skirball Performing Arts Center, 566 LaGuardia Place at West 3rd Street, 212-279-4200, $25 general, $20 children 12 and under.
