BEHIND THE BOOK COVERS A retrospective on book designer Chip Kidd includes more than 300 book covers, correspondence with authors and artists, sketches, and press clippings. Original artwork used by Frank Miller, Chris Ware, Tony Millionaire, and Alex Ross is also on display. Through February 4, Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m., Saturday, noon-5 p.m., Cooper Union, School of Art, second floor, 7 E. 7th St. at Third Avenue, 212-353-4195, free.
