FOOTPRINTS LARGE AND SMALL The American Museum of Natural History hosts a “Dinosaur Trackways” workshop, to demonstrate what can be learned from studying dinosaur footprints and tracks. Saturday, October 9, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (ages 4 to 6), 1:30-3 p.m. (ages 7 to 10), 212-769-5200, $25. Also at the museum this weekend: Author and illustrator Susan Stockdale reads from “Carry Me! Animal Babies on the Move” (Peachtree).The book describes kangaroos babies tucked in pouches, little penguins perched on their parents’ feet, and baby alligators riding in their mothers’ mouths.
