GARBO THE GREAT In celebration of the 100th anniversary of Greta Garbo’s birth, Scandinavia House presents the film series Forever Garbo. Up next: Garbo stars in “Grand Hotel” (1933), which follows the intersecting lives of the clientele at a swanky Berlin hotel. The film also features John Barrymore, Joan Crawford, Wallace Beery, and Lionel Barrymore. Tonight, 5:30 p.m. and 8 p.m., Saturday, 3 p.m., Scandinavia House, 58 Park Ave., between 37th and 38th streets, 212-879-9779, $8 general, $6 members.


FRENCH CONNECTION BAMcinematek presents four New York City premieres as part of its New French Con 476 1040 548 1050nection program. Highlights include “Olga’s Chignon” (Le Chignon d’Olga), “Pale Eyes” (Les Yeux clairs), and “The Intruder” (L’Intrus). All films are in French with English subtitles.
