SONDHEIM SOUNDS New York University presents Stephen Sondheim’s “Merrily We Roll Along.” The show explores sudden changes in the lives of three friends: a composer, a lyricist, and a novelist. COMPOSERS CREATE Eight young composers from around the world create new work in a series of storefront displays throughout New York City (Friday and Sunday, 8 p.m.).The “Monster Composer Rally” culminates when these works are performed by the MATA Micro-Orchestra (Saturday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 2, 8 p.m.).
