NEW AMSTERDAM NIGHTS The New Amsterdam Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alondra de la Parra, presents the world premiere of New York composer Joshua Feltman’s “Ties That Bind.” The concert also features cellist Andrew Janss performing the Saint-Saens Cello Concerto No. 1 and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, Op. 55, “Eroica.” Tonight, 8 p.m., Symphony Space, Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 2537 Broadway at 95th Street, 212-864-5400, $15.


INAUGURAL CONCERT The Metropolis Ensemble, a new chamber orchestra led by Andrew Cyr, presents its debut concert,”Voices of Night.” Saxophonist Marty Ehrlich and tenor Daniel Neer are the guest performers in a program that features the New York premiere of Portland-based composer David Schiff’s “Singing in the Dark,” the centerpiece of the concert. It also includes music by Aaron Copland and Benjamin Britten. Tonight, 8 p.m., Angel Orensanz Foundation Center for the Arts, 172 Norfolk St., between Stanton and Houston streets, 917-930-6106, $15-$25.
