AFRICAN SOUNDS Modiba Afrikast Live! a new monthly party presented every first Wednesday, makes its debut on the Lower East Side. This month’s theme is “Dancing For Darfur,” featuring video art installations about Darfur activism, and performances by local musicians and DJs, including Kwame Akbar and drummers Yoshi Takemasa and Baye Kouyate.
