BREAKABLE ART Glasswork artist Jerome Harrington offers a lecture at the close of his current exhibition, “The End Is Nigh,” which features a piece called “Thermometers for Mass Hysteria,” a thermometer that calculates the temperature of groups. EARTH-SHATTERING A seismology expert, Michael Wysession,gives a lecture on earthquakes and tsunamis. He also gives a virtual tour of the Earth’s layers, from crust to core. ENLIGHTENMENT, ETC. Historian Darren Staloff discusses the connection between Enlightenment philosophy and the ideas of America’s founding fathers. The talk is based on his new book “Hamilton, Jefferson Adams: The Politics of Enlightenment and the American Founding” (Hill and Wang).
