DAY OF ILLUSTRATION Parsons the New School for Design presents “Illustration Today: A Symposium on the State of the Art,” a daylong conference featuring masters of the art and new practitioners engaging in various discussions. Participants include a critic for Artforum, Sarah Boxer, and an illustrator of album covers for bands including Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin, George Hardie. THINKING OUT LOUD A professor of philosophy and religious thought at Rice University, Edith Wyschogrod, discusses her book “Crossover Queries: Dwelling with Negatives, Embodying Philosophy’s Others” (Fordham University Press), about how negative moments are open spaces for thought. The presentation is part of a roundtable discussion featuring a professor of religion at Columbia University, Wayne Proudfoot, and a professor of Hebrew Studies at New York University, Elliot Wolfson.
