PUCK IN HARLEM The Pulse Ensemble Theatre brings Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” to the Riverbank State Park as part of Harlem Week. Director Alexa Kelly sets the scene for “A Midsummer Night’s Dream-Happenin'” in today’s Harlem, utilizing Caribbean folklore, West Indian calypso, and American blues to complement the Bard’s comedy. TENNESSEE SUMMER The Sackett Group presents the final performances of its inaugural production of Tennessee Williams’s “Suddenly Last Summer.” The mysterious death of a young man, Sebastian, creates confusion and anxiety for his cousin, Catherine Holly, and his rich widowed mother, Mrs. Venable. The play is directed by Robert Weinstein. MICHIGAN MEMORIES Australian writer Mary Gage presents her first American play, “Evensong,” about the memories of six elderly people in Michigan. Ruby Holbrook stars in the Broad Horizons production. Lewis Magruder directs. DREAM CYCLE “Dreamhouse” is a theatrical song cycle based on poems by Barbara DeCesare. Five actresses portray a single character during different points in her life. Ari Laura Kreith directs the play, which features music by David Wolfson. It is presented as part of the Midtown International Theatre Festival.
