THROUGH A LENS DARKLY The play “Through a Naked Lens” tells the illicit love story between silent film star Ramon Novarro and Hollywood journalist Herbert Howe in the 1920s. The play is directed by Richard Bacon and L.J. Kleeman and stars JoHary Ramos and Stephen Smith. TIME WITH TERESA The Hypothetical Theatre presents the New York premiere of “Mother Teresa Girl,” Aviva Jane Carlin’s one-woman show based on her experiences in India working with Mother Teresa in 1988. Ms. Carlin plays herself and six volunteers she worked with there, all of whom were searching for fulfillment in some form. Amy Feinberg directs. KNOCKOUT NIGHTS “Escape From Bellevue and Other Stories,” written and performed by Christopher John Campion, features short monologues paired with full-band performances of songs inspired by the true stories. Mr. Campion’s rock band, Knockout Drops, performs the tunes, which chronicle his experience in Bellevue’s detoxification ward, his success and failure in the music business, and his raucous street performance during the citywide blackout of 2003.
