A wine bar and lounge is a swanky new addition to a swath of Upper Broadway otherwise dotted with chain stores. Unwined at Symphony Space theater boasts sommelier Pieter Verheyde’s eclectically edited wine and cocktail list. It includes a merlot from Slovenia, a chardonnay from South Africa, and riesling from Germany, in addition to craft beers and the venue’s sumptuous signature drink, a white peach Bellini. The venue is the latest venture from Café Gray’s director of operations, Gil Rubenstein, who in May opened his own Lilliputian-sized coffee joint, Gilileo, on West 94th Street. Unwined, which bills itself as “trendy but friendly,” offers a variety of bigger-than-appetizers and smallerthan-entrées dishes by chef Eran Elhalal. Menu items include twin mini cheeseburgers on brioche buns, candied foie gras in a nutmeg-cardomom glaze, a caramelized fig salad drizzled in a pomegranate vinaigrette, and traditional Moroccan semolina cake, soaked with clove and star anise syrup. Opens daily at 4 p.m., 2537 Broadway at 95th Street, 646-403-3215.
