Cooking dishes that use a number of spices can get complicated in tiny apartment kitchens: Bottles and bags of organic spices can easily overwhelm small kitchen counters and stovetops. Southerners Katie Luber and Sara Engram have created tsp spices, a new line of packaged spices that will ease the pain home chefs feel about their limited space. Each box contains 12 slim packets, each containing 1 teaspoon of a certain spice. New Yorkers can buy sets of the spices online: Highly recommended is the Spice Basics set, which contains six sleek silver boxes of chili powder, turmeric, cumin, fennel seed, coriander seed, and ginger powder.

The Spice Basics set is $42 at tspspices.com.
