TOM DELAY WINS FOUR-WAY BATTLE FOR THE GOP NOMINATION IN TEXAS
SUGAR LAND, Texas – Rep. Tom DeLay won the GOP nomination to the House yesterday, beating three challengers in his first election since he was indicted and forced to step aside as majority leader.
With 14% of precincts reporting, Mr. DeLay had 10,005 votes, or 64%. His closest challenger, environmental attorney Tom Campbell, had 4,049 votes, or 26%.
“I have always placed my faith in the voters, and today’s vote shows they have placed their full faith in me,” Mr. DeLay said in a statement. “Not only did they reject the politics of personal destruction, but they strongly rejected the candidates who used those Democrat tactics as their platform.”

COLLEGE BOARD SAYS 4,000 SAT SCORES WRONG
About 4,000 students who took the main SAT college entrance exam last October received incorrectly low scores because of problems with the scanning of their answer sheets. The College Board, which owns the exam, notified college admissions offices of the mistake and provided the proper scores for affected students in a letter received by some yesterday afternoon. A College Board spokeswoman, Jennifer Topiel, said students would be notified by e-mail Thursday. Affected students will be refunded their fees from that sitting, the letter said.
