Four car accidents around the city early yesterday morning killed three people and left at least two critically injured, police officials said.
In an accident in Staten Island just after midnight, a BMW crashed into a Toyota with New Jersey license plates after the Toyota ran a red light, killing the male driver of that car. The female driver of the BMW was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Just after 3 a.m., a 28-year-old driver of another BMW was killed after he struck a wall on the Madison Avenue Bridge.
In Elmhurst, a 22-year-old Hispanic man was critically hurt in a hit-and-run accident at 3:40 a.m. Police were still searching for a silver vehicle that fled the scene.
