BOSTON — A passenger accused of hitting a flight attendant during a flight from New York to Paris has been arrested after the plane was diverted to Boston.

American Airlines Flight 44 landed without incident shortly after 8 p.m. Wednesday at Logan International Airport. The Massachusetts Port Authority spokesman, Phil Orlandella, says no one was injured.

The state police lieutenant, Eric Anderson, says a French national, Ansoumane Conde, was taken into custody.

It was not immediately clear early yesterday what charges might be filed.

The plane was traveling from John F. Kennedy International Airport to Charles DeGaulle Airport, with 136 people on board.
