A team of first responders rescued two windsurfers who were blown out to sea from a Rockaway beach yesterday, police said today.
The windsurfers, who were not identified by police, had been surfing near Beach 105th Street at around 2:40 p.m. yesterday afternoon when they were pulled out too far, and were unable to get back.
A police helicopter saved one of the surfers using a rescue bucket. The other surfer was picked up by a fire department rescue boat.
No one was injured, police said.
