Two City Council members are proposing a plan to fight an anticipated 11.5% water rate hike.
Council members James Gennaro and David Weprin have called for creating water conservation incentives; the elimination of rental fees that the Water Board pays for the use of city pipes, and funding for sewage treatment required by state and federal laws.
The Water Board is scheduled to vote on the increase on May 14.
