WEB SITE LETS CONSUMERS COMPARE DRUG PRICES A new state Web site will help consumers faced with high prescription prices save up to $100 on a single drug purchase while driving down the market price. State Attorney General Eliot Spitzer launched the site at www.NYAGRx.org yesterday. A help line – 800-771-7755, option no. 3 – is also provided for those without computers.
The Web site allows consumers to shop online for a prescription, giving comparisons by store, address, and price throughout the state. Mr. Spitzer said the information covers 170 pharmacies. It will be updated at least monthly. The site uses prices that all drug stores must report under state law on common drugs.

BRONX
SERIAL RAPIST CONVICTED A serial rapist who was wanted for 16 sexual assaults across the city was convicted yesterday of nine rapes, Bronx prosecutors said. Luis Acosta, 36, of Flatbush, was convicted of 14 counts of first-degree rape, five counts of sodomy, and one count of escape in the spree of knifepoint assaults that lasted a decade. He faces up to life in prison on each of the rape counts, District Attorney Robert Johnson said in a statement.
Acosta was accused of raping the nine women and girls, ranging in age from 13 to 58, in their apartments from 1993 to 2002. He would often trick his victims into letting him into their apartments by pretending to be plumber. He was linked to the victims through DNA evidence, Mr. Johnson said. Acosta also is accused of four rapes in Queens, with victims ranging from 9 to 25, between 1999 and 2001 and one rape in upper Manhattan.
