A police officer was shot in the torso in Harlem last night, but the injury was not life threatening, police officials said.

The officer was shot around 9:25 p.m. at 2309 7th Avenue and was taken to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, where he was in stable condition.

One suspect was in custody, but it was not clear whether he was the shooter, police said.
