Police are asking the public for help tracking down an attacker who hit an officer in the head with a glass bottle late Tuesday night.
The incident took place at Ebbets Field Houses in Brooklyn.
Police say the officer, whose name was not released, was assigned to the area as part of Operation Impact, which places new police recruits in the city’s most crime-ridden neighborhoods.
The officer was patrolling the area when a bottle was thrown from one of the upper floors of 1700 Bedford Ave., striking him in the head. Police canvassed the area but were unable to locate the assailant. The officer was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he was treated for a skull fracture and received stitches for a cut on his head. Police say he is in stable condition.
