A woman was found bludgeoned in her apartment in the Rego Park section of Queens yesterday and police are questioning her live-in companion, officials said.

The woman, who was not identified because her family lives in Italy and could not be reached, was discovered bleeding from the head at around 10a.m. yesterday in an apartment at 63-29 Fitchett St., police said.

Sources said the 52-year-old boyfriend of the woman, who was 50, had called police. After he was taken into custody, he told investigators that he had fought with the woman the night before and then went to sleep in a separate room. He told police he found the woman unconscious and bleeding yesterday morning.
