Police are searching for a suspect in the killing of a 9-year-old girl and her mother in the Bronx, police officials said.

The bodies of Yolande Beckford, 24, and her daughter, Monique, were found at their residence at 4359 Furman Ave. after a worried relative, who had not heard from the two in several days, asked another person to call the authorities, police said.

Finding the doors to the residence locked, police entered through a window and discovered the bloody bodies of the two victims at about 10:45 a.m., police said.

Police are awaiting results from the Office of Chief Medical Examiner to determine how the two victims were killed, police said.
