A five-member appellate court yesterday officially disbarred an attorney convicted of providing material support to terrorists.

Lynne Stewart broke the law when she passed along messages from a client, the convicted terrorist Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman, to his followers. She was convicted in 2005 and sentenced last year to 28 months in prison.

Stewart had practiced law in New York since 1977.
