‘Child to the Man’
Congratulations for having the temerity to criticize Mayor Michael for his published comments describing President Bush as a “child” [Editorial, “Child to the Man” April 21, 2008].
While it has become vogue in many Manhattan social circles to blindly criticize Mr. Bush, America has not suffered another terrorist attack in the almost seven years since September 11 thanks largely to policies of the Bush administration.
I am disappointed in Mr. Bloomberg’s judgment and agree that he should apologize for his irresponsible comments.

‘Quinn Accused of Causing Street Names Traffic Jam’
I live in Harlem and I protest any street renaming [New York, “Quinn Accused of Causing Street Names Traffic Jam,” April 16, 2008].
The battle over changing Sixth Avenue to Avenue of the Americas continues. I implore the Department of Transportation at least to give us double signs with old and new names to avoid the confusion that renaming Lenox, 7th, and 8th avenues is causing among longtime residents, visitors, tourists, and even bus drivers.
The establishment of the present street grid by early planners makes our city easy to navigate so let’s not tamper with a successful formula.
