“Military romantic” is how Generra describes its fall 2008 collection, presented Friday at its garment center showroom. The epaulet-adorned line also seemed to channel a cleaned-up version of the East Village, circa the early 1990s — with black, gray, and navy miniskirts and -dresses paired with combat boots, ankle-length scarves, aviator sunglasses, and fingerless gloves. The male models sported layered looks, and wore low-rise trousers, tucked into wool socks and loosely laced black boots. Grass and mustard hues were used sparsely throughout the appealing collection, cut almost entirely from natural fabrics.
