Brits and Americans happily commingled at the Met Ball last night, guided by its chairwoman, the actress Sienna Miller, who arrived with Burberry designer Christopher Bailey on her arm. Sarah Jessica Parker came with designer Alexander McQueen, actress Scarlett Johansson posed on the red carpet with Brit designer Stella McCartney, and Charlize Theron arrived with John Galliano. In celebration of the new exhibit “Anglo-Mania,” the museum became a grand English garden with daffodils, tangled willow branches, and apple trees. The party ended in the Great Hall, where guests sat on white wicker chairs and sipped Midnight Tea.
