RISE: BLOOD HUNTER

Sadie (Lucy Liu) is an investigative reporter who stumbles upon a dark underground cult that is attracting young Los Angeles hipsters. Lured in by the promise of wild parties, these kids start turning up dead, and when Sadie tries to get to the bottom of their gruesome murders, she becomes a victim herself.

She awakens in the morgue, neither dead nor alive, consumed by a craving for blood, and hell-bent on finding the killers who made her this way. Detective Rawlins (Michael Chiklis) is sick with rage and grief, his only daughter another victim of the cult. He soon crosses paths with Sadie, and the two join forces, stopping at nothing until they’ve exacted their revenge.

In a small Midwestern town, where generations of men march off to the local steel mill every morning and find reprieve every night at the local tavern, the men of the Lee family are tormented. When Carl Lee (John Heard) is arrested and charged with vehicular homicide after a night of drinking, his only contact with the outside world is his youngest boy, P.J. (Tom Guiry), who desperately tries to reconnect with his father through regular visits to the county jail. Carl’s other son, Ben (Clayne Crawford), has slipped into an apathetic state.

With Carl out on a short furlough from jail before his date in court, the Lee patriarch must try and bring his damaged family back together.
