AT CONGRESS BERNANKE EXPECTED TO VOW VIGILANCE AGAINST INFLATION


Ben Bernanke, appearing before Congress this week for the first time since becoming Federal Reserve chairman February 1, is likely to brush aside lawmakers’ calls for a pause in the central bank’s credit-tightening campaign and vow vigilance against inflation, analysts say.

Microsoft unveiled mobile phones with new e-mail features that will compete directly with Research In Motion’s BlackBerry devices … NBC Universal sold about $900 million in advertising for its broadcast of the winter Olympics, and the network’s chairman Bob Wright said the two-week event will make money. “This is the biggest thing that we do,” Mr. Wright said in an interview from Turin, Italy, on Thursday. “It’s the showpiece of all of NBCU’s television programming.”
