FLOWER POWER An exhibit of work by Pierre-Joseph Redoute (1759-1840), nicknamed “the Raphael of botanical illustration,” goes on display this weekend in the Bronx. “Flowers by Redoute, Artist for an Empire” includes books, prints, letters, and portraits. The exhibit includes original artwork from “Le Roses,” a three-volume work depicting the roses that Redoute created for Empress Josephine. Saturday through January 22, New York Botanical Garden, LuEsther T. Mertz Library, Bronx River Parkway and Fordham Road, Bronx, 718-817-8700, $13 general, $11 seniors and students, $5 children ages 2 to 12, free for children under 2.
WAREHOUSE WARES The Festival of Emerging Photographers, presented by Art + Commerce, features 150 photographs by 24 artists. The show takes place at the Tobacco Warehouse, a roofless 19th-century building at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge with views of the Manhattan skyline. Through Tuesday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. daily, open until 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Tobacco Warehouse, Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park, north of the Brooklyn Bridge, free.
