LEVITT’S TOWN Helen Levitt’s color photographs of New York City, taken between 1959 and 1984, are on view through next week. The exhibit marks the publication of her new monograph, “Slide Show” (PowerHouse). ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT Maria Pineres’s needlepoint works are not typical embroidery samplers: She found inspiration for the works in her show “A Rogues’ Gallery,” which closes this weekend, in mug shots of celebrities. The famous arrested faces she has stitched include Nick Nolte, Lizzie Grubman, Jack White, Michael Jackson, Hugh Grant, Lil’ Kim, a young Bill Gates, and Robert Downey Jr. (twice).
