NEW AMSTERDAM “Peter Stuyvesant’s Ghost” is a civic art project featuring six events and a daylong symposium Saturday that explores the environmental and cultural changes that took place during the Dutch colonial period in New York. Events include a telephone tour of the original area of land that Dutch colonists settled on, and various walking tours. Wednesday through Sunday, times and locations vary. LATE NIGHT The Whitney Museum of Art remains open until 10:30 p.m. to celebrate “For Those Who Know What To Look For,” a new campaign featuring work by British artists Warren du Preez and Nick Thornton-Jones. PLANT LIFE The New York Botanical Garden presents “Buried Treasures: The Nature and Art of Bulbs,”an exhibit of plantrelated drawings and paintings from the collection of the LuEsther T. Mertz Library. Featured artists include Georg Dionysius Ehret, Pierre-Joseph Redouté, and Walter Hood Fitch. RAY OF LIGHT The Rubin Museum of Art presents “Humanitas II,” an exhibit of 26 photographs by Frederic Roberts, who depicts his spiritual trek through Asia between 1986 and 2006. Deborah Willis is curator of the exhibit.
