GREY DAYS
The Maysles brothers’ documentary “Grey Gardens” (1975) follows a neurotic mother and daughter, both named Edith Bouvier Beale. Distant relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy, the pair lives with a coterie of cats and raccoons in a ramshackle house on Long Island. The short film “Happy Mother’s Day” (1964), a verite look at the frenzy surrounding the birth of quintuplets in a small town, opens the program.The films are screened in “Candid Cameras,” a series of documentaries, features, reality television shows, and webcam footage. ANIMAL HOUSE
Harold Lloyd’s biggest success in silent films, “The Freshman” (1925), satirizes Roaring ’20s college life. The short “I Do” (1921), in which Lloyd plays an inventive babysitter, precedes the feature. Steve Sterner provides piano accompaniment for the 7:30 p.m. screening. Friday and Saturday, 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., 9:30 p.m., Film Forum, 209 W.
