GHOSTLY BITES Marbella restaurant offers a prix fixe Halloween menu. Tapas selections include piquillos rellenos (red peppers stuffed with bomba rice, oxtail, and manchego cheese), and gambas Catalanas al ajillo (Catalan-style garlic shrimp). Entrees include margret al Porto con higos (duck with fig port sauce, white bean and roasted garlic puree, and grilled asparagus). LOWER EAST SIDE REVELRY The Parks and Recreation Department offers a Downtown Halloween Party in Hamilton Fish Park. Haunted houses, pumpkin patches, arts and crafts, and music are all offered. BOO IN BROOKLYN The “BAMboo! Halloween” celebration, presented by the Brooklyn Academy of Music, features children-friendly activities, including a candy giveaway, pumpkin bowling, and pirate performing artists. CHILDREN’S SPOOKS The American Museum of Natural History presents its annual Spooktacular Halloween celebration, featuring children’s literary characters like Clifford the Big Red Dog and Miss Frizzle. Attractions include dangerous dinosaurs and eerie elephants. Today, 4–7 p.m., American Museum of Natural History, 79th Street and Central Park West, 212-769-5200, $9 general, $8 members.

A SAFE HALLOWEEN “Tricks and Treats” at Trinity Church features a daytime program of arts and crafts for children in the church’s courtyard, and a nighttime screening of “The Hunchback of Notre Dame,” featuring live accompaniment by organist Cameron Carpenter. SAD MUSIC Rohan Kriwaczek speaks about his book “The Incomplete History of the Art of Funerary Violin” (Overlook), which details the life of the Guild of Funerary Violinists. THE BIG ONE The 33rd annual New York Village Halloween Parade takes over Greenwich Village with a lineup of 53 bands and thousands of costumed revelers. Only those in costume are allowed to participate. Tonight, 7 p.m., enter at the east and south sides of Sixth Avenue between Spring and Canal streets, 845-758-5519, free. EASTBOUND The East Village revels in its own Halloween glory with a parade organized by the Theater of the New City. Performers include the Great Paprika Band and the Lavender Swing Band. Dancers from the theater’s Halloween cabarets perform throughout the night. Tonight, 7:30 p.m., starting point at the Theater of the New City, 155 First Ave. at 10th Street, 212-254-1109, free.

BASED ON THE FILM George Reinblatt’s “Evil Dead: The Musical” spoofs the cult films of director Sam Raimi with a story of a boy who encounters ancient demons during a camping trip. The play is directed by Hinton Battle and Christopher Bond, and featured actors include Renée Klapmeyer, Ryan Williams, and Jennifer Byrne. Tonight, 11 p.m., New World Stages, 340 W. 50th St., between Eighth and Ninth avenues, 212-239-6200, $25–$60.
