NUTCRACKER NIGHTS New York City Ballet performs George Balanchine’s holiday classic “The Nutcracker” for the 51st consecutive year. Highlights of the latest production include more than 150 dancers, a 1-ton Christmas tree, an onstage snowstorm, and hundreds of elaborate costumes. DECK THE HISTORIC HALLS Each of the 11 period rooms of the Morris-Jumel Mansion, Manhattan’s oldest house, are decked out in a tableau depicting an historic holiday tradition popular in early New York. Guided tours are offered throughout the event and the decorations will remain on display through January 8. Saturday, 4-7 p.m., Morris-Jumel Mansion, 65 Jumel Terrace, between 160th and 162nd streets, 212-923-8008, $4 general, $3 seniors, students, and members.


ST. CECILIA’S ‘MESSIAH’ David Randolph conducts the St. Cecilia Chorus and Orchestra in a performance of Handel’s “Messiah.” The holiday concert is part of the chorus’s 100th anniversary season. Harpsichordist Marijo Newman is joined by vocal soloists Joyce Guyer, Jan Wilson, Randal Rushing, and Peter Castaldi. Saturday, 8 p.m., Carnegie Hall, Isaac Stern Auditorium, 881 Seventh Ave. at 57th Street, 212-247-7800, $18-$75.


VOICES FROM ALL OVER Cantori New York presents its annual “Holiday Celebration,” a seasonal music concert with a 40-voice ensemble. The program includes traditional Christmas carols, Chanukah songs, and works from Africa, Argentina, and China. Sunday, 5 p.m., the Church of St. Luke in the Fields, 487 Hudson St. at Grove Street, 212-439-4758, $15 general, $10 seniors and students, $5 children ages 12 and under.
